What we accept

  • Trading card packaging from any game: booster wrappers, booster boxes, ETB boxes, tins, blister packs and display cartons
  • Cardboard of any kind, flattened if you can
  • Paper, from old price lists to shipping labels
  • Plastics, including toploaders and sleeves past their best

It does not have to come from our store. If it is paper, cardboard or plastic, we will take it.

How it works

  1. Hand your recycling to us when you collect an order, visit the viewing room, or arrange a drop-off through our contact page.
  2. We record your drop-off and credit loyalty points to your store account.
  3. Our partner Waste Trans CC collects everything from us and processes it free of charge. The money the material earns is donated to education and community-outreach causes we choose together.

The programme is rolling out now. Points are being recorded from day one and you will be able to see your balance in your account.

Why we are doing this

This hobby produces a lot of packaging, and most of it ends up in the bin. Our partner, Waste Trans CC, is a Durban recycling company and a member of the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa. They turn that waste into funding for education and community outreach, and give collectors, especially younger ones, a reason to keep it out of the gutter. Together we're committed to growing the programme beyond Durban and taking it national. Small habit, real difference.

And it's bigger than trading cards. We'll be inviting other businesses to join the movement and have their waste collected the same way, so recycling becomes the normal thing to do, not just in the TCG world but across our community.
